Burgas Airport is situated in a picturesque bay on the southern Bulgarian Black Sea coast, 10 km north-east of the city of Burgas which ranks second among Bulgarian municipalities by its well-developed industry. Within a 30 km radius of the airport are situated the attractive seaside resorts of Slunchev Bryag (Sunny Beach), Nessebar, Elenite and Dyuni, etc. The tourist season lasts from May till October, thus ensuring steady leisure traffic during this time of the year.

Fraport Twin Star Airport Management  - At the end of year 2006 the German-Bulgarian consortium of the world-famous airport operator Fraport AG and the Bulgarian logistic company BM Star won the competition for the concession of Varna and Burgas airports – the air gateways to the popular Bulgarian Black Sea tourist region. During the 35-year concession period Fraport Twin Star Airport Management will operate and invest in the development of both costal airports.
